The Center for Safe Schools has available free training programs for public schools, charter schools and Intermediate Units in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. These programs are available for Act 48 professional development credit.

The following is a partial list of emergency response programs available for delivery at your school:

  • Orientation to School Safety (3 hours)
  • Introduction to School Safety Planning (6-7 hours)
  • Parent-Child Reunification (5 hours)
  • Implementing ICS in your School (3 hours)
  • ICS – NIMS Boot Camp for School Officials ( 7 hours)
  • Drills and Exercises for Schools (7 hours)
  • School Medical Response Teams ( 7 hours)
  • School Safety 102 (A closer look at key issues )  (6 hours)
  • Understanding and Developing MOU’s (5 hours)
  • Drug Awareness and Concealment for Educators (2-3 hours)

These programs are available to other organizations on a fee-for-service basis.


Additionally, the Center can deliver the following courses free through the New Mexico Tech Energetic Materials Testing Center:

  • Understanding and Responding to School Bomb Threats (5 hours)
  • Incident Response to Terrorist Bombings (5 hours)
