2002-2004 Annual Family Center Evaluation Report
Family Centers in Pennsylvania are making a difference in the lives of children and families.
Each year, close to 14,000 Pennsylvania families use their local, neighborhood Family Centers to obtain the information, services, and support needed to achieve positive outcomes for their families and for their children.
This report outlines Family Center services, highlighting ways in which Family Centers have made positive differences in the lives of participants.
The information on the following pages demonstrates that through participation in local Family Centers:
- Families are moving into stable housing and feel safer in their communities.
- Children and families are maintaining continuous health insurance coverage and are connecting to primary care physicians.
- Families are improving their economic status and educational attainment.
- Parents are engaging in language/literacy activities and school activities with their children.
- Parents feel more confident of their parenting abilities.
Family Centers are unique in the types and variety of services they provide for families. Each center offers an array of health, education, employment and family support services designed to help families in their communities achieve economic self-sufficiency, healthy child development, positive parenting, family stability and access to supportive services.
Family Centers play a significant role in service delivery in communities, in preventing children and families from entering into the formal child welfare system, and in achieving outcome goals that have a broad influence in their communities.
