Alternative Education for Disruptive Youth Conference:
Preparing Students for Lifelong Academic and Social Success
October 7 - 8, 2009 - Gettysburg, Pennsylvania
Plan now to attend the Alternative Education for Disruptive Youth Conference in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania at the Eisenhower Hotel and Convention Center on October 7 - 8, 2009.

2009 Governor’s Institute for Educators
The 2009 Governor’s Institute for Educators: Improving Academic Success Through Positive School Culture will be held July 26 – July 31, 2009 at Bloomsburg University in Bloomsburg, PA. This institute will challenge school teams to examine the quality of the learning environment in their school to determine if the current culture supports and promotes academic achievement. The Institute is funded by the Pennsylvania Department of Education.

Save the Date for the 2010 Safe Schools Conference
Plan now to attend the 2010 Annual Safe Schools Conference, “Keeping Our Children Safe: Strategies for Schools and Communities” at the Hilton Harrisburg, May 3-5, 2010. The Conference is sponsored by the Pennsylvania Department of Education in partnership with the Pennsylvania State Police, Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency, Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency and Center for Safe Schools. The Pennsylvania Department of Education and partners Penn State - Harrisburg and the Center for Schools and Communities are pleased to announce the 2010 English as a Second Language (ESL) Conference to be held in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania June 20-22, 2010. Please check back for more information in the coming months.
Delay or Cancellation Procedures:
Due to inclement weather (snow, ice, flooding, etc.) or other emergencies workshops may be delayed or cancelled. Registrants are responsible for calling the Center for Schools and Communities Automated Voice Messaging System at (717) 763-1661, Option 3 after 6:30 a.m. the day of the conference/workshop. The system is updated as conditions change, so it is necessary to call for any changes prior to leaving for your scheduled conference/workshop.
