Alternative Education for Disruptive Youth Coordinator

The AEDY coordinator is responsible for activities necessary to increase awareness of the importance and impact of quality programs as well as develop and promote practice and policy that supports sustainable quality programs for disruptive youth. The coordinator is also responsible for technical assistance, program planning and coordination, delivery of trainings and workshops, and information gathering and development of resources and products to support the Center for Schools and Communities goals. The coordinator is also responsible for providing support for the readiness/planning and fidelity of various programs in schools including, but not limited to alternative education for disruptive youth. Additionally, the coordinator will exhibit a level of autonomy and meet directly with Pennsylvania Department of Education staff. Center for Safe Schools Director

The Center for Safe Schools director has primary responsibility for the planning, development and implementation of statewide projects related to training and technical assistance for statewide school safety, youth violence prevention, bullying prevention, equity assistance, emergency response and crisis management, alternative education and other related projects. The director will serve as the state point of contact for the Center for Safe Schools. Program responsibilities include collaboration and networking with key stakeholders, positioning the Center for Safe Schools as a thought leader in the field, oversight of an annual statewide conference, and resource development designed to meet the needs of schools and districts. Management tasks include developing and adhering to project timelines, establishing objectives and evaluating outcomes; fund development and sustainability planning, fiscal management; and the responsibility of monitoring daily operations and supervision of Center for Safe Schools professional staff.
