Center for Safe Schools Director

The Center for Safe Schools director has primary responsibility for the planning, development and implementation of statewide projects related to training and technical assistance for statewide school safety, youth violence prevention, bullying prevention, equity assistance, emergency response and crisis management, alternative education and other related projects. The director will serve as the state point of contact for the Center for Safe Schools. Program responsibilities include collaboration and networking with key stakeholders, positioning the Center for Safe Schools as a thought leader in the field, oversight of an annual statewide conference, and resource development designed to meet the needs of schools and districts. Management tasks include developing and adhering to project timelines, establishing objectives and evaluating outcomes; fund development and sustainability planning, fiscal management; and the responsibility of monitoring daily operations and supervision of Center for Safe Schools professional staff. The special projects data specialist is responsible for providing software, training, documentation and technical support to contracted database projects funded by the Office for Child Development and Early Learning. This person will analyze and problem solve to meet client needs. Pennsylvania STEM Afterschool Expansion VISTA

PSAYDN is embarking on exciting work to expand the amount of STEM opportunities in afterschool programs. Conduct STEM-rich partnerships with five low income and/or underserved pilot sites; continue the administration of the statewide survey to update and maintain an accurate mapping of STEM afterschool programs and potential partners as well as working partnerships with STEM-rich institutions; seek funding and partnerships to develop or publicize quality Pennsylvania STEM afterschool programs in underserved areas; partner with the PA Girl’s STEM Collaborative and potential other mentoring partners to develop and deliver (in person and/or online) trainings for OST staff and volunteer STEM-rich and businesses partners to insure a positive quality STEM /OST experience for youth programs and partners.
