Dr. Kenneth Ginsburg is a pediatrician specializing in Adolescent Medicine at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and a Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Pennsylvania’s School of Medicine. As an expert in adolescent medicine, he helps educators build their trauma informed knowledge and trains school leaders to create powerful school climates.
Ginsburg will discuss the importance of fostering resiliency in our youth, the need for trauma-informed care and mental health services. This presentation will provide participants with effective strategies to overcome barriers to student success and navigate the increasingly complex mental health challenges we face as educators.

Scott Buchanan is a global leader in logistics and expert on the value of relationships for effective emergency planning. He serves as chief for Operational Planning and Readiness (Acting) and deputy director for the National Infrastructure Coordinating Center.
Buchanan will relate his global experiences with relationship building to skills necessary for school districts of all sizes and demographics. By using examples of real-world events, he will provide participants with critical tools to grow their emergency preparedness strategies.
