Center for Schools and Communities Family Support Initiative, with support from the Office of Child Development and Early Learning (OCDEL) will host “Weaving Together Love and Loss: Supporting Grieving Children and Families” webinar on Wednesday, August 12 at 10:00 a.m. EDT.
We often misunderstand grief in children or mistakenly believe that children do not experience grief at all. Yet, anyone old enough to love is old enough to grieve. Young children experience and respond to grief in unique ways that are not always clear to adults and caregivers. This webinar will help you to better understand grief in children and learn how you can support both children and families experiencing loss. Following the webinar participants will be able to describe the unique ways that children experience grief; recognize common grief responses in children; and identify ways to support grieving children and families.
This online learning session will be presented by Alexa Livelsberger, LCSW, outreach education coordinator and child grief specialist at Highmark Caring Place.
There is no fee to attend, but participants must register at https://register.gotowebinar.com/register/2577457974033885199
