Center for Schools and Communities Family Support Initiative, with support from the Office of Child Development and Early Learning (OCDEL) will host “Changing How We Care, Not That We Care: Supporting Children and Families During Ever-Changing Times” webinar on Wednesday, March 10 at 10:00 a.m. EST.
The COVID-19 pandemic has created new stressors for children and families already coping with stressful lives. As we strive for equity, the racial and ethnic disparities as they impact families further increase levels of stress, anxiety, and worry. Those working with children and families are also balancing the needs of their own families; this is not always easy. The webinar will address how the pandemic and recent events have affected children and families and those who serve them. Ideas and strategies to reduce stress and increase coping and resilience for everyone will be discussed.
This online learning session will be presented by Robin H. Gurwitch, Ph.D., psychologist and professor at Center for Child and Family Health, Duke University Medical Center.
There is no fee to attend, but participants must register at http://www.pa-pat.org/pat-professional-development/
